Croatian sausage to be 'biggest ever'
13 February 2009Potentially the biggest sausage history has ever seen is to be cooked and eaten in a Croatian village.
According to the Croatian Times, Tportal reported that the 500 metre meaty monstrosity is to be distributed among the lucky townsfolk of Nustar in Vukovar-Srijem county tomorrow (February 14th).
Ingredients in the Slavonian sizzler - which will feed 3,000 people - will include 400 kg of pork, 10 kg of sale, 3.5 kg of garlic and around 2.5 kg of red peppers.
The ambitious project is part of a wider scheme entitled Come to Vinkovci, which aims to encourage tourists to visit the picturesque region.
The website claims that the organisers of the tourist drive will ask the Guinness Book of Records to bestow the honour of world's biggest on the sausage.
That record is currently held by Romania, which last year produced a banger measuring more than 390 metres long.
