Croatian scores last minute winner
07 October 2008International footballer Mladen Petric scored a last minute goal for his team Hamburg in a match against Energie Cottbuss on Sunday.
Croatian Petric fired home the goal to put his team three points clear at the top of the German league table after seven matches.
Hamburg has won five games this season, scoring 14 goals in seven matches thanks to Petric's winner, which made the score 2-1.
The player told goal.com Hamburg won the game deservedly and was the better team throughout, even though it was not until the last minute they got the victory.
"Naturally I'm delighted at having scored the winner - especially after hitting the post and thinking it wasn't going to be my day," he said.
Managed by Tottenham Hotspurs previous manager Martin Jol, Hamburg are a low-profile club who have experienced unexpected success at the start of the season.
In November last year Petric scored a 25-yard goal for Croatia against England, helping his team to a 3-2 win over the Three Lions.
