Croatian ski holiday 'is best value for money option'

The 28 per cent of Britons interested in a skiing break who said value for money is their greatest concern may wish to consider a Croatian holiday.

According to a poll by the Ski Club of Great Britain, 28 per cent of those questioned suggested getting a lot for their cash was top of the list of priorities.

Travelling to the Croatian mountains could be the ideal way to avoid expensive eurozone trips - where skiing facilities and slopes could be even more enjoyable than those in more traditional skiing hotspots.

Skiers could combine their trip with a visit to one of Croatia's historic cities - such as Zagreb, Split or Dubrovnik.

Earlier in the season the Ski Club of Great Britain predicted that the ski slopes of Croatia would be especially busy this winter.

Spokeswoman Vanessa Fisher suggested that resorts "off the beaten track" offer the best value for money.
