Croatian ski holidaymakers 'should watch out for hidden costs'
19 January 2010Skiers heading to Croatia to hit the slopes may wish to take note of advice given by a money expert.
Alison Steed, editor at mymoneydiva.com, is warning tourists of hidden charges and extra costs they may not be anticipating.
One example that may affect those travelling to their Croatian villa amongst the snowy peaks of the Balkans is the charges made for ski hire.
But Ms Steed has a way around this, saying: "If you can, borrow [ski equipment] from friends and family, but you have to be very careful with that, because taking things like skis on a plane is actually a lot more expensive than it was."
It may also be worth investing in specialist ski clothes before departure rather than paying out for them at a resort.
Teletext Holidays recently suggested that booking a last-minute ski break could be the cheapest way to secure such a trip - and one of the top destinations could be Croatia.
