Croatian star Modric to 'satisfy' supporters

Croatian football star Luka Modric has pledged to impress fans over the next few months, despite a shaky start to his career in London.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder joined the English Premier League's Tottenham Hotspur over the summer, but has recently been linked with a move to Italy.

Speaking to a Croatian newspaper though, the Zadar-born playmaker was quick to quash any rumours, insisting that he was happy in London and keen to win over the fans.

Modric told Sportske Novosti: "Let's stop talking about this. I've only just arrived in Tottenham.

"We have a quality team and this is a great club."

Modric added that he was keen to give "more satisfaction" to the club's "faithful supporters" before the end of the season.

Prior to joining Tottenham Hotspur, Modric was based in the Adriatic city of Split with local club Dinamo.
