Croatian tourists to be safer this summer
02 July 2008Tourists visiting Croatia this summer will feel safer with four Slovak police officers arriving in the country to help the country's patrols, it has been reported.
Police Corps president Jan Packa announced that the three Slovak policemen and one policewoman will be going to the Balkan country, which is a popular tourist spot, to provide extra security, although they will not have the power to make arrests, tasr.sk has revealed.
The officers will be there to help tourists in Croatia, providing them with information and increased security.
Mr Packa commented: "This may be the first time ever that our police officers have gone to serve in another country. They will be there only on behalf of our citizens. They will provide an information and security service for them."
This comes as British tourists have said their favourite type of holiday destination is one which includes a sandy beach, such as Split in Croatia, according to holidayhypermarket.co.uk.
