Croatian villa could be best place to stay during food festival
17 November 2009Food and drink enthusiasts staying in a Croatian villa this week may want to head for a culinary festival which begins tomorrow (November 18th).
The Culinary Days event takes place over six days in the northern city of Opatija, reports the Croatian Times.
Organisers have revealed that 47 competitors - varying from five-star chefs to budding young cooks - will take part in the competition at the Hotel Ambassador.
Visitors will be able to watch the hopefuls in the kitchen and enjoy workshops, presentations and lectures from some of the top culinary artists at the event.
Students from local schools will also be given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and work with the iconic kitchen superstars.
Culinary Days may be considered by some as one of the finest food festivals in Europe - and any foodie may want to make sure they do not miss it by booking a last-minute trip to Croatia.
Some may even wish to combine their stay on the Adriatic coast with a music concert, as legendary performers Pet Shop Boys and Jose Carreras are both set to sing live in the country in the coming weeks.
