Croatian vodka enter agreement with airliner
28 May 2008Akvinta, the makers of quintupled distilled vodka, has signed a deal with Virgin Atlantic offering passengers a taste of Croatia as they go on their travels.
It will initially be poured in the airline's London Heathrow Clubhouse from the start of June as part of the spirit's launch in the UK this summer.
Virgin is also looking to offer Akvinta in its onboard Retail Therapy magazine by the end of the year so travellers can also enjoy the drink in-flight.
Pavel Ryabov, chief executive of Adriatic Distillers, said it is proud one of its beverages will be offered by Virgin Atlantic.
He continued: "I believe the philosophy of the two brands is in perfect synergy as both represent great taste and a passion to deliver high standards."
Akvinta's alliance with the British operators follows deals between Croatia Airlines and Bombardier Aerospace and Lufthansa Technik.
Canada-based Bombardier has presented one of four Q400 aircraft it is developing for Croatia airlines as part of its plans to match capacity with demand on routes not suited to larger jets, while German firm Lufthansa will provide component support for the fleet
