Dance Week Festival in Croatia approaches
21 May 2009Next Monday marks the start of the 26th Dance Week Festival in Belgrade, which may tempt people looking for a last-minute holiday to choose accommodation in Croatia.
Running from May 25th until June 2nd, the annual event includes discussions on the art form, workshops, films and meetings with professionals.
Some of the top industry names involved in the week-long gathering in Belgrade include Portuguese choreographer Paulo Ribeiro and the Croatian Choreographer Platform.
The official website for the festival says there will be a total of "13 choreographers and companies from 12 countries" at the event, including "one of the foremost creators in today's choreographic world" Wayne McGregor.
With a number of transport links from Zagreb to the Dalmatia coast, holidaymakers taking in the dance classes and exhibitions may wish to explore more of what Croatia has to offer.
Various forms of entertainment are provided by the busy port of Split, while the nearby islands such as Brac offer visitors to Croatia a number of traditional vacation activities.
