Demand for vacations is picking up
20 August 2009More people are taking flights abroad for vacations in destinations such as Croatia.
That is to be inferred from comments made by the Official Airline Guide (OAG), which revealed that there has been a noticeable rise in demand for air travel over the past several weeks.
David Beckerman, vice president of market intelligence for the organisation, which provides data on the aviation industry, predicted that last-minute bookings could help boost demand further in the winter.
He said: "The small but steady increase in seat capacity over recent months indicates a growing confidence among airlines and that market demand may be returning to previous levels."
His comments came in response to statistics published by the OAG earlier this month, which found that there were 315.2 million seats on offer in August, up 0.2 per cent compared to the same month last year.
For those looking to book flights abroad, Croatia could provide the ideal location for a summer vacation.
