Dépêche Mode to play in Croatia

An electronic music band will be staging a concert in Zagreb as part of its European tour.

Dépêche Mode will play a concert on May 21st 2009 at the as-yet unfinished Zagreb Arena, which is being built in time for the World Men's Handball Championship in January.

The English band's Tour of the Universe 2009 will take place in 28 cities and will begin on May 10th in Israel.

Zagreb's concert will be part of the Tuborg green festival and it is expected 1.3 million tickets will be sold for the tour altogether.

Dépêche Mode has recorded 11 albums in 28 years and is recording a new one which is due to be released in April next year before the tour commences.

Music fans in the country recently attended the second annual music and multimedia fair, which took place in Zagreb from November 12th to 16th under the name Loud at First Sight and included educational workshops.
