Dubrovnik a 'wonderful pilgrimage site'

The stunning walled city of Dubrovnik has been named as the ultimate travel destination for those looking to discover their spiritual side.

Writing for Associated Content, Lacie Schaeffer noted that the Adriatic location was home to a seemingly endless number of ancient shrines, historic cathedrals and mystical grottoes.

For those planning to travel in Dubrovnik, some of the most impressive sites to be found include the imposing Church of St Blasius, the intriguing Serbian Orthodox Church and the fascinating Church of St Ignatius.

Ms Schaeffer wrote: "The beautiful city stretches out into the blue-green water in a graceful arc; the tile-roof buildings provide eye-pleasing photographic opportunities."

She added that the city was a "wonderful pilgrimage site" for those of a variety of religious faiths.
