Dubrovnik holiday 'absolutely beautiful'

A Dubrovnik vacation has been described as "absolutely beautiful" by one well-known celebrity in the US.

Bridget Marquardt, who hosts the show Bridget's Sexiest Beaches on the Travel Channel, said she was pleasantly surprised by what a Dubrovnik holiday offered her.

Speaking to USA Today, the model and reality television star - who was born in Oregon and raised in California - said she did not have any idea what to expect before she decided to travel to the city.

"When I got there I found it was rich in history, culture and friendly people," she explained to the newspaper. "The old city walls still surround the main city and you literally walk over a drawbridge to get in."

She used a number of adjectives to describe the city, including "thriving" and "bustling", while she was also taken aback by the sea, calling the water "crystal clear".
