Dubrovnik holiday 'is a highlight of European cruise'
27 June 2011A stop-off in Dubrovnik this summer might appeal to anybody planning a holiday in central Europe, particularly around the Mediterranean region.
The Dubrovnik Summer Carnival is sure to keep the masses entertained, while the city's ancient attractions – such as its historic walls – continue to amaze travellers.
In the opinion of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, the resort is also home to the bluest spot on Earth, when viewed from space.
This makes it the perfect location for those who love to relax on the beach, take a paddle in the waters or engage in one of the number water sports on offer.
But in the opinion of Anthony Nicholas, writing for the Scotsman, the destination is also ideal when taking a cruise.
He noted Dubrovnik was one of the undoubted highlights of his tour of the Mediterranean, noting the marble pavements and winding alleyways among his favourite aspects of the city.
Mr Nicholas also suggested the "vast" fountains dating back to the 14th century are worth a visit.
