Dubrovnik praised as magnet for tourists
27 May 2008Dubrovnik has been praised by the Adam Smith Institute (ASI) after delegates from the British economic and social policy group visited the city for a conference.
One of the delegates, Eamonn Butler, described Dubrovnik as a "beautiful old walled city" and a "magnet for tourists".
The ASI was present for the Stockholm Network's annual retreat, which aims to foster the relations of the 135 think tanks from across Europe which supports the organisation.
Mr Butler said it was refreshing to see "so many talented people committed to the free-market causes and committed to changing reality in so many countries" in the Croatian city.
Run by 17 permanent members of staff and representing industries such as information technology, energy and healthcare providers, the network's retreat precedes a summer of events in Dubrovnik.
