Dubrovnik restaurant 'gives Malaysians a taste of Croatia'

People in Kuala Lumpur are being given a taste of Croatia thanks to the opening of the Dubrovnik restaurant in the city, it has been revealed.

The establishment replicates owner Zoran Djumic's memory of Croatia and some of the country's specialities and other European delicacies are served up to diners, the Star Online reports.

Zoran's daughter, Dina, is the general manager of the restaurant and she told the news provider the family hopes to promote Croatia's people, culture and food to its customers in the Malaysian capital.

Among the traditional Croatian dishes on offer are Strulkli – a fresh cheese dumpling starter, which is pan fried with breadcrumbs and served with sour cream, Cevapi and Djuvedj or grilled meat with fragrant rice, and Ragusa Caramelo, a layered caramel cake.

In Croatia itself, the Adio Mare fish restaurant in Korcula was recently recommended by the New York Times.

Bookings for the eatery are recommended as it is said to be very popular with locals and tourists alike.
