Dubrovnik walls walk recommended
17 September 2008Walking around the ancient walls of Dubrovnik has been rated as one of the 50 best walks in the world by a travel article.
Vincent Trump wrote in the Sunday Times people should "storm the ramparts" in the Unesco-listed city on the Dalmatian coast in Croatia.
Rated grade one - the easiest by the newspaper and classified as a "pub stroll" - the one-hour walk could be an easy way for visitors to take in all the area has to offer.
Mr Trump said the tour of the old town's battlements is "unforgettable, around an Escher-like collection of sand-castle sentry posts, helter-skelter stairways and crumbling catwalks, all poised on high cliffs around the bluest bit of the Adriatic".
A tour of the ramparts costs £5.50.
In related news, Dan Johnson, the managing director of property website TheMoveChannel.com, recently revealed Dubrovnik's property market is set to perform well despite the current economic climate.
He said "super-rich" investors are likely to consider the city as they look to find the next "hotspot".
