Eco-park could be perfect setting for Croatian villa stay
15 January 2010An ecological aqua park is set to be created in central Croatia which may persuade green-loving tourists to book a Croatian holiday.
More than 60 million kunas (£7.3 million) is to be invested by Israeli businessmen in the scheme, reports the Croatian Times.
Staying in a Croatian villa in the picturesque eco-friendly area could be the perfect base from which to explore the park.
An aqua centre, a village with a range of accommodation and a zoo will all be built, the newspaper says - which may help to attract numerous visitors to the 75,000 sq m site near Gospic.
It is set to be the first major project carried out in the centre of Croatia - famous for its mountains and unspoilt natural habitats - since the Split to Zagreb road, the publication asserts.
Older travellers may be especially interested in the park, after Live and Invest Overseas magazine this week revealed Croatia to be the ninth best place to spend time in during retirement.
