Elton John 'to play' Croatia
16 March 2009Legendary pianist and singer Elton John could play a huge concert in Croatia this summer, it has been reported.
According to a local newspaper, the Croatian Times, the 61-year-old, whose hits include Don't Go Breaking my Heart, Candle in the Wind and I'm Still Standing, could appear at June's Histria Festival in Pula.
The publication claimed that John, who writes alongside partner Bernie Taupin, may play on the 27th at Arena amphitheatre.
If the Middlesex-born pop veteran were to play, it would make up only part of a gruelling touring schedule which begins tomorrow (March 17th) in Tulsa, Oklahoma and ends at Seattle's Key Arena on November 4th.
Performers who have already confirmed they will appear at the summer festival include Latin rocker Carlos Santana and the Argentinean tenor Jose Cure.
Last week, it was revealed that British Airways was is to launch increased services between the UK capital London and the Croatian resort of Dubrovnik.
