English language comedy comes to Zagreb

An ambitious group of comedians are set to translate their brand of humour into English for a one-off show, it has been revealed.

The act, entitled SVE5, will perform a two-hour routine of gags at Zagreb's old movie theatre on April 3rd, the Croatian Times reported.

Among the comics appearing are Marina Orsag, Ivan Saric and Pedja Bajovic, with music provided by the band Sane.

According to the newspaper, the troupe has performed every Thursday in a number of different Zagreb-based clubs for the past four years, while also making the occasional appearance at venues in Bosnia, Herzegovina and Slovenia.

If this latest show is successful, the group has confirmed that it could become a monthly event with new jokes and performers each time.

Meanwhile, the New York Times has reported that hotel and resort owners in Dubrovnik have shown a desire to attract more Serbian tourists to the Adriatic destination.
