English supporters descend on Zagreb

Zagreb has welcomed hordes of English fans into the city in preparation of this evening's clash between the two nations' international football teams, it has been revealed.

The capital is hopeful of a pleasant atmosphere, particularly given the positive impression made by the visitors for the last game between the sides on Croatian soil, reports Javno.com.

Caterers in Zagreb are said to be enjoying the presence of the English, with plenty of beer on offer for thirsty fans.

Nikola Brajkovic, the owner of a central Argentinean cafe, confirmed to the website that there were no problems last year.

He added: "They acted on a very high cultural and human level. There weren't any problems and we expect a pleasant atmosphere now as well."

Croatia midfield Luka Modric anticipated a close match between the two teams but insisted he had full confidence and faith in achieving victory, despite acknowledging England possess "dangerous players".
