Experience authentic Slavonian traditions on Croatia holidays
29 June 2011Visitors to Croatia next month can spend their holidays in Slavonia getting up to speed with the authentic ways of life in the region.
According to the Croatian National Tourist Office, the Miholjac Festival is the ideal opportunity to become acquainted with the area's historic traditions.
Taking place from July 9th to 12th, the event sees people come together to express their culture and beliefs.
A number of folklore groups will convene in Donji Miholjac and perform their traditional singing and dancing styles, while parades through the streets will add fun and colour to any vacation.
Special art and ethno exhibitions are due to be set up in order to show what life was once like in the north-east corner of Croatia, close to the borders with Hungary and Serbia.
On July 10th, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival is scheduled to get underway, providing another carnival atmosphere for people heading to Croatia.
