Expert: It is easy to island hop on Split and Dubrovnik holidays
05 April 2011Travellers have been advised that it is easy to hop between various islands just off the Dalmatian coast while on holiday in Croatia.
Gill Charlton, writing for the Daily Telegraph, tackled a question from reader Jenny Simmonds about how realistic a trip from Split to Dubrovnik via the islands is.
The travel expert said it is "surprisingly easy" as transport tends to be good in the area, while it is possible to cover the necessary distance.
She recommended booking spots on ferry services prior to departure, particularly if a visit is to be made in the peak season between mid-July and late August.
Once tourists arrive on each island, Ms Charlton said there will be boats to transport them to smaller beaches and islets, while taking a bicycle is a shrewd move.
Papaya nightclub on the island of Pag recently identified itself as one of the country's hidden gems and urged visitors to have a night out there.
