Explore attractive caves on holiday in Istria
22 July 2010Croatia is a country packed with caves, many of which are magical and could add some memorable moments to a holiday in the country.
The Croatian National Tourist Board explains the most special of all are Modra Spilja on Bisevo and Zmajeva Spilja on Brac, although the finest region is Istria.
However, there is something for everyone, with even those who have no experience of caves suitably catered for.
For visitors in such a situation, booking accommodation in Istria and heading to the region may be the wisest move, with the board stating the most attractive caves are found there.
Delving below the surface or into seaside spaces may offer an intriguing look at the natural beauty of one of Europe's most picturesque countries.
While in the region, tourists may wish to explore the ancient town of Pula, which is arguably one of the finest in Istria, as well as the Bay of Kvarner.
