Fashion fans could flock to Croatia after designer shoe display
30 November 2009Fashion gurus currently on a Croatian holiday may have enjoyed a display of shoes by budding designers from the Balkan country.
Peko, a Slovenian footwear company, put on the show of designer shoes and boots recently at the Hotel Westin in Zagreb, reports the Croatian Times.
Work by Ivica Klaric and Juraj Zigman - two young Croatian shoe creators - was snapped up by visitors to the exhibition.
For many of the designers - including the successful pair - the Peko presentation was the first chance to show off their work on the public stage, the newspaper reveals.
Croatia has a strong reputation for supporting and producing clothes and shoe designers - which could make it the ideal destination for fashion fans seeking the catwalks of central Europe.
Last week responsibletravel.com found that a growing number of Britons are searching for a culture-packed holiday, which may suggest that Croatia could be near the top of their shortlist.
