Fed up of Italy, Spain and Greece? Enjoy a Croatian holiday instead
12 January 2010The islands off Croatia could be a slice of heaven for scores of tourists who dream of crystal-clear waters and unspoilt sandy beaches.
Some may even wish to book a Croatian holiday immediately after hearing of the wondrous experience enjoyed by two travellers, detailed by the New Haven Register.
Sheila Norman-Culp, who recently went island-hopping with her husband, writes for the newspaper: "Are Spain's beaches too overbuilt for you? Italy and Greece too crowded? French Riviera sound too expensive? Maybe its time to go island-hopping in Croatia."
Croatia's slogan - 'the Mediterranean as it once was' - is "on the money" according to Mrs Norman-Culp.
She recommends starting any trip in Split, from where the hundreds of Adriatic islands and dozens of seaside resorts are within easy reach.
The words of Mrs Norman-Culp appear to match up with those on jaunted.com, which this week suggested that a Croatian holiday offers everything found in other countries but at a cheaper price.
