Festival of urban culture comes to Split

A festival celebrating the diverse nature of urban cultures is set to arrive in Split, it has been reported.

Between May 21st and 24th, the Adriatic city will play home to the xStatic09 event, which will feature a number of sporting and musical performances over its four-day duration, according to the Croatian Times.

Included in the line up of bands are popular Croatian acts such as General Woo, Elemental and Edo Maajka.

As reported by the publication, head of the Festive association, Pero Rancic, commented that the event was expecting over 200 participants, including basketball players, skaters, dancers and cyclists.

He added that those taking part were travelling from not only neighbouring countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, but from far-flung destinations such as the US.

The urban culture festival is not the only major event to arrive in Croatia over the coming months, as the coastal resort Zadar is set to host the World Darts Championship in June.
