Festivals to help make a Croatia vacation special
25 June 2009An expert on Croatia holidays has offered her thoughts on the forthcoming festival season in the Balkan country.
Vesna Maric, who is one of the authors of the Lonely Planet Croatia travel guide books, said that the annual Garden Festival in Petrcane is "really popular".
She explained that it is run by some of the former band members of Birmingham-based group UB40 and "has got quite a big appeal".
Anyone staying in Dalmatia between July 3rd and 12th may want to jump in a hire car and investigate the event for themselves.
Other forthcoming big Croatian events, which may be of interest to tourists, include the Motovun film festival - "a very famous film festival" that takes place in July and August.
Ms Maric added: "There is also the Dubrovnik summer festival [around the same time] which is really popular - it is a cross-genre ranging festival."
