Film festival 'set to attract tourists to Croatia'
18 February 2010Film fans may be ready to book a Croatian villa after learning of a 17-day movie festival which is set to start in the country.
The 17 Days of Croatian Film event will take place at the Student Centre in Zagreb and "presents audiences with a selection of the year's best Croatian movies", according to Whats on when.
All of the film makers who enter their work in the festival will be considered for a host of special awards, which are handed out by organisers.
Titles up for grabs at this year's event include the Days of Croatian Film award and the Croatian Film Critic Association's Octavian prize, the website states.
Booking a Croatian villa in or around Zagreb could provide tourists with an ideal base from which to enjoy the festival.
Movie fans in Croatia recently were able to watch Hollywood star Keira Knightley filming scenes for her upcoming production about the life of Francis Scott Fitzgerald.
