Flights to Croatia from US 'to become a reality'
31 January 2011Flights to Croatia from key hubs in the US are looking more likely than ever to be implemented after American aviation experts increased their evaluation of air traffic safety in the Balkan nation.
This rise in analysis of the country's procedures in air transport will enable carriers to establish links between Croatia and the US, reports Jutarnji List, in an article cited by the Croatian Times.
It is thought a codeshare agreement signed in 2007 between Croatia Airlines and United Airlines could now come into force, leading to flights from Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco with either Zagreb, Dubrovnik or Split.
Both US ambassador James Foley and Croatia's minister of transportation Bozidar Kalmeta believe the news will lead to more tourists taking holidays in Croatia, the news source explains.
Last week, the Croatian Times offered a number of suggestions for day trips to those taking flights to Croatia, such as Ljubljana, which it said is elegant and historic.
