Flights to Croatia 'open up Europe to travellers'
28 January 2011Zagreb is not only a fascinating historical city well worthy of discovering, it is a gateway to much of Europe.
That is the opinion of the Croatian Times, which reports several destinations are easily accessible by train – such as the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana.
It notes the city is just over two hours from the Croatian capital and 11 trains each day make the journey.
Such details make it the perfect day trip destination for those on holiday in Zagreb, who can board at the city's palatial station.
The newspaper urges people travelling to Ljubljana for a short stay to head straight to the old town area, where elegant architecture and cobbled streets are the norm.
It goes on to recommend taking in sights such as the Dragon Bridge, Preseren Square and the castle.
Travellers to Croatia will soon find it easier to visit Zagreb, with new flights to the city being started up by easyJet next month.
