Flora art competition attracts travellers to Croatia
19 May 2008Gardening enthusiasts are being encouraged to visit Zagreb at the end of the month as the city once again hosts the Flora Art competition.
The International Flower and Garden Exhibition will tale place at Lake Bundek from May 28th to June 1st.
Exhibitors from throughout Croatia and beyond are expected at the event to contribute towards the "patchwork of colour" which is set to be on display in Zagreb.
A competition for the best flower arrangement will be the main attraction of the exhibition, with the Florist's Cup awarded to the most creative design.
Various other entertainments are expected to take place and a selling space will be devoted to the latest gardening equipment for interested spectators.
The Flora Art competition is one of many events running in the area within the next month.
Urban Festival, a multimedia art project, takes place throughout June and is expected to involve participants from Argentina, the US and the UK.
The International Children's Festival also takes place in Sibenik, to the south of Zagreb, from next month, with a programme of events being held in squares and other venues throughout the town.
