Football fans could travel to Split for crunch match
17 March 2011Football fans from around the world looking to travel to Split this summer may like to time their arrival on the Dalmatian coast to coincide with a potential international fixture.
According to the Croatian Times, the country's football bosses are considering switching the Euro 2012 qualifier against Georgia from Zagreb to Split.
The Croatian national team play the majority of matches at the Maksimir Stadium in the capital, but it is thought the football federation would like to satisfy fans further south.
With the tie scheduled to take place on June 4th, a decision may have to be made relatively soon.
Should the game be contested in Split, it may provide a great night's entertainment for sports fans staying in accommodation in Croatia over the summer.
Croatia currently sit on top of Group F in the battle to reach the finals in Poland and Ukraine, having taken ten points from their four matches so far.
