For a European holiday Croatia 'is blossoming'

When heading away on holiday Croatia could be the ideal destination this year, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The publication has printed a list of 63 destinations across the continent that it considers to be "off the beaten path".

Among them is Zagreb, which is described as "blossoming into a vibrant and colourful capital city".

The publication continues that for travellers booking a holiday Croatia's capital has become more of a "must-see city" than has previously been the case.

Part of the reason given for this is the colour and vibrancy that adorns the city's streets.

Robert Cross writes that his own time in Zagreb began with the kind of early morning weather that might be expected anywhere in Europe.

But the city's students and the festivities of the Day of the Whistles soon brightened his experience, leading him to find a spare seat in a cafe from which to watch the revelries of passers by.
