Gandhi exhibition could be reason for Croatia visit
16 November 2009History enthusiasts may want to secure a last-minute deal on a Croatian villa and head to the country this month after learning that an exhibition on Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi has opened.
The event, which is a look at the revolutionary figure's life, begins in Dubrovnik National Library today (November 16th) and runs until the end of the week, reports the Croatian Times.
Moj Zivot- Moja Poruka, which translates as My Life is my Message, features 14 caricatures of the political inspiration as well as other memorabilia and historical information.
It marks the 140th anniversary of Gandhi's birth and was organised by Dubrovnik authorities and the Indian Embassy to Croatia.
The exhibition will next move on to Rijeka in the north of Balkan country, which could be the final opportunity for tourists to book a break in Croatia and enjoy a look at the life of one of the world's most influential leaders.
Other events to be held in Croatia this month include concerts by the Pet Shop Boys and opera legend Jose Carreras.
