German tourists could be tempted by holiday in Croatia

Tourist officials are to target the German market in order to lure more tourists to holidays in Croatia.

Travel bosses from the ancient town of Sibenik, located on the country's beautiful Dalmatian coast, will attend a pair of large industry fairs in the nation, reports the Croatian Times.

It is said the director of the Sibenik tourism association Dino Karadjole is expected to head a team first in Hamburg and then in Munich next month.

"At the same time we will be at the nautical fair in Zagreb," the expert is quoted by the newspaper as saying.

He may be relishing the opportunity of showing off the benefits of a holiday in Sibenik, such as its proximity to picturesque beaches and high quota of fascinating history.

According to figures recently published by the Verkehrsburo Group and reported by the Austrian Times, there has been a surge in the number of people from Austria taking holidays in Croatia.
