Grammy-winning jazz artist coming to Zagreb

Tourists in Zagreb this week may want to book tickets for a prestigious showpiece concert by Diana Jean Krall.

The Canadian jazz pianist and singer will perform at the city's Drazen Petrovic Hall on Friday.

Krall is currently on a world tour promoting her most recent album - Quiet Nights - which is her tenth studio release.

She said: "I was inspired to do this record because of my trip last year to Brazil. Everywhere you go, you hear the sound of bossa nova."

The Grammy Award-winning musician is known for her contralto vocals and has built up a dedicated following - some of whom may now be planning a holiday in Croatia this weekend.

Other music stars set to perform in Croatia include Jose Carreras - one of the Three Tenors - and the Pet Shop Boys.

Both acts will be appearing in Zagreb before the end of 2009.
