Holiday Croatia: Music events to bring fans 'closer to musical expression'

Croatia travel looks set for a further boost in the coming months as a major mobile phone company has announced the launch of a series of concerts in the burgeoning eastern European mecca.

Minival, a range of events intended to give upcoming Croatian musicians the chance to show off their skills, is being organised by T-Mobile and is expected to draw a horde of music fans.

Taking place at popular Zagreb club Tvornica Kulture, the concerts are predicted to go down as much of a storm with tourists and people staying in Croatian villas or apartments as with 'natives' of the Adriatic paradise.

Lordan Kondic, T-Mobile's director of marketing communications, noted that there is a "great number of bands" on Croatia's demo scene.

"Being a company that supports music through sponsorship, T-Mobile wants to give them the opportunity to establish themselves on the Croatian music scene," he remarked.

He added: "It is our intention to bring our audience, our users, closer to the current musical expression, while the best bands will receive additional support in their further work."

Bands confirmed so far for the events, which run until May, include dancehall enthusiasts RUIZ, hard rockers The Spanish Inquisition and The Rock Flocks.
