Holiday in Croatia 'can be a healthy option'

With the history, beauty and great weather of Croatia perhaps the most common reasons for taking a holiday on the Dalmatian coast, many people may not realise just what such a trip can do for their health.

However, Dr Carina Norris RNutr has reminded Britons of the benefits of the Mediterranean diet, which can be enjoyed in Croatia.

She said plenty of fruit and vegetables will always be good for the body, as they protect arteries and reduce the threat of heart problems.

"They also have a protective effect versus cancer, as well as helping you maintain a healthy weight, so reducing your risk of all the health conditions associated with obesity," the nutrition consultant added.

Dr Norris went on to suggest foods such as those found in Croatian dishes can help to improve health and fitness levels.

Foodies looking to travel to Croatia could do so on April 16th and 17th, when the Fisherman to their Town event kicks off and sees visitors tuck into tasty seafood dishes.
