Holiday in Dubrovnik - 'Croatia's jewellery box'
04 June 2009A holiday in Dubrovnik has been recommended by WA Today, with the Australian news website describing the southern Croatian city as a "jewellery box".
The World Heritage-listed old city was included in the site's top ten cities with old towns.
Those embarking on a Croatian travel trip who are on the lookout for culture will enjoy the Franciscan monastery with its 14th-century pharmacy, as well as Onofrio's Fountain and St Saviour's Church, according to the portal.
It also suggested a number of activities, which people staying in Dubrovnik apartments may wish to indulge in.
"Walking the wall is fun but for a unique perspective hire a kayak from the beach at Fortress Bokar and paddle around the walls at sunset," the report said.
There are various restaurants located inside and outside the old town walls, but younger travellers may also enjoy visiting Latino Club for some late-night music and entertainment.
