Holidaymakers heading to eastern Europe

Heading on holiday to eastern Europe may be a good idea for Brits looking for a cheap getaway.

That is according to Bob Atkinson, holiday expert at travelsupermarket.com, who has suggested that many destinations in the east benefit from not being part of the eurozone.

"People have definitely been looking at non-traditional destinations for a while," Mr Atkinson said.

For years many Brits have headed to holiday resorts in Spain or France and are now looking for something a little different.

Croatia could be one of the destinations that people enjoy taking a break in.

The country benefits from possessing a huge amount to do and see, including the Adriatic coast with its beaches and islands and cities such as Dubrovnik and Zagreb, which boast plenty of culture and excitement.

Earlier this month, Croatia's prime minister suggested that its tourism industry had held up well despite the global economic situation.
