Holidaymakers in Croatia could take part in cathedral race

People taking holidays in Croatia next month will be in the right place at the right time to take part in a popular race.

From Kaptol to Kaptol is a 61-kilometre jaunt that starts at Zagreb Cathedral and ends in front of another religious venue in Cazma.

Organisers warn the distance makes it an extremely difficult challenge and only those who are sure they are up to the task should get involved.

However, even those who are not in ideal shape for such a run can witness the special event, perhaps by watching on from either the start or end point.

It all gets underway in the capital on March 20th, with participants expected from across the world.

The date is the first day of spring, so soaking up some sun on holiday in Croatia is an extra incentive to travel.

Zagreb can now be reached via flights to Croatia with easyJet, after the airline opened its route to the city from the UK last week.
