Holidaymakers in Dubrovnik advised to head straight for city walls
16 March 2011Families, couples and individuals enjoying holidays in Dubrovnik this year may wish to take note of one piece of advice regarding arguably the resort's premier attraction.
Monsters and Critics advised people to head straight for the ancient city walls as early in the day as they can.
Not only will this help them to beat the crowds drawn to the fascinating structures, they could also find the heat in the middle of the day is "relentless", especially in summer.
According to the website, there are no shadows to cool down in at the walls, so being out at the warmest time of the day is a bad idea.
However, those who become attached to their accommodation in Dubrovnik and are determined to have a lie-in can do so, as the online portal went on to suggest late afternoon is the other suitable time for a visit.
The Dubrovnik Tourist Board has recently said the city is gearing up for a year of cultural tourism in 2011.
