Holidaymakers look for something different
14 September 2009More and more people are looking to have an experience when they holiday, rather than a relaxing break.
That is according to travel operator TUI Travel, which has suggested that many holidaymakers are now looking to do something exciting with their time off.
Lynsey Devon, activity sector PR manager for the operator, said that people's holiday desires had changed since the 1970s.
"People do feel a lot more confident trying new things," Ms Devon said.
Croatia is a popular destination for all kinds of holidaymakers and whether plans are to hit the beach or explore the countryside, there is something on offer for everyone.
A recent study by Mintel found that one in five holidaymakers try learning a new skill when on a trip abroad, while 60 per cent enjoy visiting a museum.
It was also discovered that cookery holidays, photography trips and dance vacations are among the fastest growing sectors in the vacationing market.
