Holidaymakers reminded about importance of travel cover

People heading on holiday this year should remember how important it is to have the correct travel insurance, according to the British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba).

The organisation's technical and corporate affairs executive Graeme Trudgill said that having the right cover when on vacation is as vital as taking a suitcase.

Travellers heading to Croatia for their holiday are not exempt from his warning - as the importance of travel insurance remains the same whatever country people head to.

Mr Trudgill told holidaymakers that they should not underestimate how useful insurance is in the event of an accident.

"If something does go wrong abroad, you want to be able to phone someone who speaks your language who knows how to get someone to help you, [or] get you some medical attention and pay for it," he explained.

Croatia has many attractions, and some of them - such as its scuba diving facilities - could be classed in the adventure holiday category. Anyone taking such a trip should certainly heed the Biba representative's advice.
