Holidaymakers urged to get Kunas before Croatian holiday
29 September 2009The Post Office has highlighted the importance of getting out cash before heading on a break.
It has suggested the move so that travellers can avoid spending exorbitant prices exchanging currencies at airports when before a holiday.
Many British vacationers may wish to consider a Croatian holiday in the near future, as the country's currency, the kuna, has fallen in value against the pound since the beginning of the year.
In January the pound bought just 7.5 kunas, but now it can get just above eight.
Sarah Munro, Post Office head of travel services said: "UK holidaymakers need to be careful to get their currency in advance as leaving it late and changing money at the airport or in overseas ATMs means wasting hard-earned cash."
For people heading to Croatia to visit one of the many shopping districts in big cities such as Zagreb and Dubrovnik, now is a good time to make the most of the exchange rate.
