Holidays in Croatia 'great value for money'
11 March 2009A holiday in Croatia can prove to be good value for travellers on a shoestring, it has been claimed.
According to Steve Barnes, senior membership marketing manager for Abta - the Travel Association, the Balkan country can provide the perfect antidote to overpriced breaks elsewhere in the world.
What is more, the Adriatic hotspot also benefits from being outside of the eurozone, meaning holidaymakers are not subject to the poor exchange rate between the pound and euro.
Mr Barnes also highlighted a new trend for spending time sailing while in the country.
He said: "Croatia's great value for money as well and they're doing things like flotilla holidays now, which are very popular as well.
"It's a good way to see all the inlets and every night they moor up and have a party on the beach - that's quite a good way to holiday."
According to the latest Travel Trends Report from Abta and the Commonwealth Office, holidays to countries outside of the eurozone are set to significantly increase this year.
