Increase in Croatian currency sales reported
06 May 2009Vacations in Croatian villas could be on the horizon for a number of British holidaymakers, it has emerged.
This is because the Post Office has reported that the country's currency, the kuna, is one of its "fastest growing" foreign exchange markets.
Apparently, the kuna has been increasing in popularity for a number of years, but has performed particularly well in the first few months of 2009.
Head of travel services at the Post Office Sarah Munro indicated that the upturn in requests for Croatian currency shows that more people are opting for a Croatia travel experience.
"Post Office sales show that [sales of the kuna are] up eight per cent on the same period last year," she explained.
Her comments come after a weekend which saw budget airline easyJet launch a new regular service from Gatwick Airport to the southern Croatian city of Dubrovnik.
