Increasingly popular museums available to Dubrovnik holidaymakers
07 March 2011The museums in Dubrovnik grew in popularity in 2010, with those on holiday in Croatia perhaps responsible for much of the rise.
New figures show the city's exhibitions brought in an extra 16.5 per cent in revenue compared with 2009 levels, according to an article by Business reported by the Croatian Times.
In addition, the total number of visitors to museums in the Dalmatian coast resort was 350,000.
Of total revenue of 11.7 million kunas (£1.35 million), some 9.8 million kunas came from money generated by admissions.
And people who travel to Dubrovnik for a historical break will be delighted to learn the city's museums added 129 artefacts to their collections over the 12-month period.
As well as this, 39 objects were restored and some 240 were cleaned in order to look their best once more.
Alistair Fraser, writing for the Daily Telegraph, recently advised people heading to Zagreb to visit the capital's numerous museums.
