Interlib fair is 'great success'

The international book and teaching aid fair was held in Zagreb this month to great success.

Southeast European Times reports the Interlib event, running from November 12th and 16th, saw around 300 publishers take part.

Discounted books were available, with some costing as little as one euro and admission to the event being free.

Misha Glenny, author of McMafia, a best-selling political book, was invited to the fair to meet with readers and answer questions.

Publishers from across the world also attended the event, including some from Belgium, the US, Spain and the UK.

Bozo Biskupic, Croatian minister of culture, who officially opened the fair, tells the publication the event is a "great opportunity" for the general public to see what's happening in the publishing market and a chance to meet new and world-famous writers.

He adds: "This adds value to Interliber as a cultural event."

This year's event marked the start of its fourth decade of its existence and was opened on the same day as the fourth Music and Multimedia Fair.
